Mantis Collection has opened Gamra Mountain Resort in Al Baha, introducing a 30-suite mountain resort focused on nature, adventure, local culture and sustainability. The resort is located at approximately 2,260 metres above sea level on Khairah Mountain.
The region is known as the Garden of the Hijaz, an area characterised by cooler temperatures, more than 100 forests, juniper and acacia trees, terraced farmland and orchards producing apricots and pomegranates. Gamra Mountain Resort by Mantis comprises 30 tented Mountain Suites, designed around camp- and lodge-style accommodation.
The suites are located alongside the resort’s Adventure Park, which is scheduled to open soon, and are connected by a one-kilometre internal route. The Adventure Park will feature activities on the ground and at higher levels for different age groups, including 14 indoor and outdoor attractions.
Once operational, it will include thrill-based challenges and activities designed for younger visitors. The resort will also offer guided buggy experiences across Al Baha’s highlands, including mountain trails outside the property.

Dining at the resort includes Jamra, an open-air venue featuring live-fire cooking and flame-grilled dishes alongside Arabic cuisine. Hala will serve Mediterranean and Arabic dishes throughout the day, with menus incorporating regional products including pomegranates, Shadawi coffee and mountain honey.
The resort provides access to attractions across the wider Al Baha region, including Raghadan Forest, Khairah Forest, Baljurashi National Park, Al Hamda Waterfall and Bakhroush bin Allaas Castle. The surrounding area also includes historic stone villages, watchtowers and mosques.
Sustainability initiatives at Gamra Mountain Resort include measures focused on water and energy use, waste management, local sourcing and community engagement. Before the resort’s opening, Mantis partnered with Al Baha Municipality and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture on the “Gamra Grows” initiative.
Through this initiative, 1,000 seedlings were planted. A second initiative, “Gamra from the Roots”, was established with the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC), with a phased target of 7,000 seedlings, and 350 seedlings planted to date.
