TTC’s Nikki Elstob joins Globus as trade marketing leader

Nikki Elstob has joined Globus as its new Trade Marketing Executive, a position designed to boost the company’s partnerships with travel trade partners. Starting this week, she will lead cooperative marketing campaigns, trade communications, and agent engagement programs for Cosmos Tours, Globus Journeys, and Avalon Waterways.

Elstob will partner with Nicola Cook, Head of Trade Marketing, to create materials and strategies for travel agents and operators. With over ten years in travel and aviation, her career includes marketing, sales, and commercial roles at The Travel Corporation, Delta, Beachcomber Tours, Air France, and Air Mauritius. Before this, she managed partner marketing for TTC Tour Brands in the UK and Europe during a maternity leave.

The hire shows Globus’s commitment to reinforcing ties with travel agents. Lesley Taylor, UK and Ireland Managing Director, stated the appointment strengthens support for partners. “Our relationships with agents and operators are essential,” she noted. “Expanding the marketing team demonstrates our dedication to assisting them.”

This development follows growing rivalry for agent loyalty. Unlike past roles that often centered on direct sales or digital campaigns, this position prioritizes direct collaboration with intermediaries over isolated promotions. The shift reflects industry trends favoring agent training and shared resources over transaction-based marketing.

Elstob’s combined background in tourism and aviation may help unify Globus’s cruise, tour, and river brands. Her experience at Delta and Air France included commercial partnerships, skills that will aid agent-focused efforts. The move also consolidates trade marketing under one leader, simplifying campaigns across the company’s portfolio.

Globus’s trade sales team will assist Elstob in developing engagement strategies. While specific targets remain undisclosed, past efforts included joint promotions, training sessions, and exclusive marketing tools. Taylor highlighted adaptability as a key focus—tailoring support to agent needs rather than enforcing standardized approaches.

Elstob’s arrival coincides with a broader industry push toward deeper agent integration. Her role suggests Globus aims to move beyond basic outreach, investing in long-term partnerships rather than short-term gains.

Globus’s latest expansion signals a strategic shift in how it engages with travel professionals. The company’s willingness to adjust based on partner feedback sets it apart from competitors relying on rigid marketing models.

Elstob’s expertise in both leisure and aviation sectors positions her to strengthen Globus’s cross-brand initiatives. Her prior work in commercial alliances will likely enhance the company’s ability to deliver tailored solutions for agents.
