Nashville Airport expands Concourse A with local dining and retail

Fraport USA has revealed the dining, retail, and entertainment lineup for Nashville International Airport’s (BNA) expanded Concourse A, set to open in 2028 as part of an $855 million modernization. The new concessions reflect Nashville’s cultural identity while adding local and national brands to the airport’s growing hospitality program.

The expansion includes a mix of established Nashville businesses, regional chains, and new concepts designed to serve travelers with diverse tastes. Chief’s, a Broadway venue tied to country artist Eric Church, will debut as a full-service airport restaurant, blending its entertainment roots with airport dining. Hawkers, a Florida-based Asian street food chain, will expand into Nashville with a menu inspired by regional flavors. Burger Republic, a local favorite known for gourmet burgers and craft beer, will also open in Concourse A.

Coffee chain Dunkin’ will launch a new Dunkin’ After Dark concept at BNA, combining all-day coffee with a bar serving alcoholic drinks. Fast-casual options will come from Freshens, offering acai bowls, salads, and flatbreads. Two retail stores will highlight Nashville’s creative culture: Nashville Remix, a bottle shop and tasting bar with local merchandise, and Greatest Hits, a music-themed gift shop tied to BNA’s existing Nashville Jam Session store.

The concessions program was developed with the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority and aligns with Fraport USA’s broader strategy at BNA, which already features local, regional, and national brands. The lineup balances authenticity—showcasing Nashville’s music, food, and neighborhoods, with familiar airport staples. According to the report, the expansion aims to turn Concourse A into a destination within the airport itself, offering travelers a taste of the city before departure.

While the $855 million project focuses on capacity and amenities, the concessions reflect a deliberate effort to extend Nashville’s brand beyond the terminal. Existing programs at BNA, such as the Nashville Jam Session, suggest this approach has worked, now, Concourse A will deepen the connection. The airport’s role as a first and last impression of the city is central to the design, with officials emphasizing authenticity over generic airport offerings.

Fraport USA’s Karl Ebert, Vice President of Operations for Fraport Nashville, called the lineup an extension of BNA’s award-winning program. “We want every part of that experience to feel authentic to Nashville,” he said, framing the expansion as both a service upgrade and a cultural ambassador for the city. The opening will also introduce new retail concepts, including the first Nashville Remix and Greatest Hits locations, designed to reflect the city’s music and creative scene.
