Expert to Lead Longevity Discussions in Thailand

The Global Wellness Summit, the leading forum for executives in the worldwide wellness sector, is scheduled for November 10-13 at Angsana Laguna Phuket, Thailand. As longevity expands into a multi-billion-dollar industry, the event will examine the swift evolution of this new emerging medical-wellness pillar.

The field of longevity has evolved significantly in recent years, shifting from a niche obsession to a mainstream movement, with a focus on healthspan – the number of years lived in good health. The space now spans from complex biotech experiments to the “natural longevity” of the Blue Zones, encompassing both clinical and human connections.

Leading Expert in Healthy Aging to Keynote

Andrea B. Maier, MD, PhD, a world-renowned expert in healthy aging, longevity medicine, and precision geroscience, will join the conference to spearhead the exploration of what’s next in longevity and healthspan. She will keynote on “Health Optimization: Integrating Consumer-Led Health and Precision Geromedicine.”

Maier is a professor of medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and co-founder and director of the clinical trial center, the NUS Academy for Healthy Longevity. Her team was recently named one of the 20 finalists in the $101 million XPrize Healthspan competition, which identifies the boldest science and most promising therapeutics helping people live healthier lives.

Maier’s project, PROMETHEUS, is a new, personalized framework for longevity, using multimodal interventions, including lifestyle and diet interventions, nutraceuticals, and repurposed drugs, all precision-prescribed based on the person’s specific gerotype and dynamically adapted based on treatment response.

A Unique Approach to Longevity

Maier’s approach to longevity is distinct, focusing on solving the field’s evidence problem through an integrative, medical-wellness approach, including precision diet, exercise, and psychosocial health interventions. She works to bring longevity medicine to all, rather than just providing concierge services to the wealthy.

Maier co-founded the NUS Academy for Healthy Longevity to conduct trials, translate science into real-world solutions, and train doctors in longevity science. Her work has been recognized by TIME magazine, which named her one of the 12 longevity leaders for 2026.

Susie Ellis, GWS chair and CEO, noted that Maier’s presentation at the Roundtable of Longevity Clinics at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging last year impressed her, and she immediately knew that Maier would be an excellent fit to drive the discussions on the future of longevity and healthy aging at this year’s Summit.

Maier will lead an intimate discussion, in addition to her keynote address. She joins a diverse group of keynotes.

The Summit will also feature other notable speakers. With such a diverse range of experts, the Summit promises to be a thought-provoking and informative event.

Her team will now conduct rigorous trials in advance of the XPrize winner being named in 2030.
