Expedia Launches Autonomous Onboarding for Faster Property Listings

Expedia Group has launched Autonomous Onboarding, the first phase of its Autonomous Distribution roadmap. This new system allows properties to join Expedia’s global travel marketplace in under 24 hours without leaving their existing connectivity software.

Properties can select Expedia as a distribution channel, accept the agreement, and go live quickly. The process removes the need for a separate onboarding workflow or duplicate data entry.

The launch gives properties a simpler path to Expedia’s consumer brands, B2B network, and AI-powered bookings. Five connectivity partners across multiple markets shaped the experience in the pilot phase: HotelRunner, Yanolja Cloud Solutions, RoomCloud, RateGain, and Eviivo.

Once live, properties can reach travelers through Expedia’s multiple consumer brands, its B2B distribution network of more than 75,000 partners and 200,000 travel advisors, and its emerging AI-powered travel partnerships. Expedia’s platform saw more than one billion average monthly searches and recorded more than 415 million booked room nights in 2025.

Chris Hodges, VP of Global Connectivity & Partner Solutions at Expedia Group, said, Adding a new source of demand should not add a new layer of work. Autonomous Onboarding simplifies joining Expedia through existing technology. It marks an important step towards the company’s vision for Autonomous Distribution, where partners can focus more on growing their business and less on manual processes.

The longer-term vision aims to simplify and enhance the full distribution lifecycle, extending into how partners manage and optimize their business over time. By streamlining onboarding, Expedia seeks to provide a more efficient way for properties to access its global demand.

As the travel industry evolves, the ability to quickly join a global marketplace like Expedia could become increasingly valuable for properties expanding their reach. With Autonomous Onboarding, Expedia positions itself as a leader, offering a faster way for properties to connect with travelers worldwide.

The success of Autonomous Onboarding will likely depend on its seamless integration with various existing software and systems. If achieved, it could become a preferred choice for properties joining a global travel marketplace, potentially altering the industry in favor of more streamlined distribution models.

Expedia’s Autonomous Distribution journey has begun with Autonomous Onboarding, a significant step towards simplifying and enhancing the distribution lifecycle. As the industry observes this new system’s performance, it’s clear that innovations prioritizing efficiency, convenience, and global reach will shape the future of travel distribution.
